Aida Verona 2021 is an Italian opera by Giuseppe Verdi, to be performed from June 19th to July 3rd, 2021, at the Arena di Verona. It is one of the most famous and successful operas of all time, having been performed over a thousand times since its premiere in 1871. This 2021 production of Aida will be directed by Hugo de Ana, and will feature a star-studded cast including tenor Vittorio Grigolo, soprano Tatiana Serjan, and mezzo-soprano Sonia Ganassi.
Synopsis
Aida tells the story of the ill-fated love between Aida, an Ethiopian princess, and Radames, an Egyptian military commander. Set in ancient Egypt, the opera follows the two lovers as they struggle to reconcile their love with their conflicting loyalties to their countries. The story is filled with jealousy, betrayal, and tragedy, culminating in a heartbreaking finale.
