Arc de Triomphe Prix is an annual race held in Paris, France, usually on the first Sunday in October. It is the second richest horse race in Europe and the richest turf race in the world, with a purse of €5 million. History of the Race
The Arc de Triomphe Prix was first run in 1920, and has been held every year since. The race was originally known as the Grand Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, but was changed to the current name in 1981. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious races in Europe, and the first horse to win the race was the British-trained horse, Comrade.

The Arc de Triomphe Prix is run over a distance of 2,400 metres (1½ miles) on the Longchamp Racecourse.
