General Information
The Bronx Zoo is located in the Bronx borough of New York City, in the United States. It is the largest metropolitan zoo in the United States and among the largest in the world. With over 4,000 animals of 650 species, it comprises 265 acres of park lands and naturalistic habitats, through which the Bronx River flows.
How to Get There
The Bronx Zoo is easily accessible by public transportation. There are several ways to get to the zoo:
By Subway
The 2 and 5 trains stop at the Bronx Park East station, which is the closest station to the zoo. The B and D trains also stop at the Bedford Park Boulevard station, which is a short walk away from the zoo.
By Bus
The BxM11 express bus from Midtown Manhattan stops at the Bronx Zoo. The BxM11 is a fast and convenient way to get to the zoo from Manhattan. The Bx26, Bx28, and Bx36 buses also stop at the zoo.

If you are driving to the Bronx Zoo, the best route is to take the Major Deegan Expressway (I-87) to the Bronx River Parkway. Follow the signs to the Bronx Zoo, which will lead you to the Bronx River Parking lot.
Admission Fees
Admission to the Bronx Zoo is $19.95 for adults and $14.95 for children (ages 3-12). Children under the age of 3 are admitted free of charge.
Hours of Operation
The Bronx Zoo is open 365 days a year, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. On weekends and holidays, the zoo is open from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm.
