Glasgow Science Centre is reopening its doors after a four-month closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The centre, which is a major tourist attraction in the city, is welcoming visitors back with new safety measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety.
Safety Measures
Glasgow Science Centre is taking extra precautions to ensure visitors can enjoy the centre in a safe environment. These measures include:
- Reduced visitor numbers
- Increased cleaning and sanitisation of the centre
- Social distancing measures in place throughout the centre
- Contactless payments encouraged
- Staff and visitors required to wear face masks
These measures are in line with the Scottish Government’s guidance on reopening tourist attractions and have been put in place to ensure the safety of everyone.

The centre is home to a number of interactive exhibits and activities, which visitors can enjoy. These include:
- The Planetarium – a 360° immersive experience that takes visitors on a journey through the universe
- The Science Mall – an interactive space featuring over 100 hands-on exhibits
- The IMAX Cinema – a giant screen showing 3D films
- The Glasgow Tower – a 127-metre tall tower with a viewing platform at the top
- The Science Show Theatre – a live science show with interactive experiments

Reopening
Glasgow Science Centre is reopening on 17th August 2020. The centre will be open seven days a week, from 10am-5pm. Visitors are encouraged to book their tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
